Legal & secretariat jobs can be divided in ‘Group Legal’s’ role and ‘Group Secretariat’ role:

Group Legal’s role is to facilitate business and deliver commercial solutions while protecting the Group’s franchise and managing legal risk. Our lawyers are grouped into both business facing and specialist legal teams and they support the Group in complying with its policy of working within all relevant laws and regulations applicable in the jurisdictions where we do business. 
 
The other part of legal & secretariat are the Group Secretariat, who plays a key role in the governance of the Group, with responsibility for establishing a corporate governance framework that enables the board of directors to oversee effective delivery of the strategic review plan.  The Group Secretariat aspect of legal & secretariat jobs involves advising on corporate governance, they provide secretariat support to the Group board and senior committees and divisional and subsidiary boards and committees.
