Diversity

"We need to embrace people's differences."

Diversity and Inclusion

We value the diversity of our employees and are committed to creating a working environment that is inclusive to all. In order to attract and retain talent and enable employees to reach their full potential we need to embrace people's differences, whether they are related to physical characteristics, such as gender, race, age or disability, or related to their sexual preferences, beliefs and opinions.

Our Internal Networks

We have two of the largest employee led internal networks within the Banking industry; Focused Women Network (gender equality) and the Rainbow Network (sexual orientation equality).  Both networks aim to support, inspire, lead, coach, motivate and create opportunities to fulfil employees' potential.  RBS supports employee networks and believe that they need to come about organically and evolve by the work and commitment of our employees engaged in the networks so they are of real benefit to them.

Focused Women

The Focused Women Network was launched in March 2007 to support the Group in actively attracting, retaining and developing talented female members of staff.
Focused Women is dedicated to supporting RBS group in developing its female talent. It achieves this through a range of activities including personal development events, maximising networking opportunities and driving corporate social responsibility.

The Rainbow Network

The RBS Rainbow Network is one of the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered networks in the banking sector and was established by employees for employees in order to provide a worldwide support forum and social network within the RBS group.

The RBS Rainbow Network's strength relies on our colleagues getting involved in running the network, and especially participating and attending the events that are organised.  The regular interaction and online articles are of great benefit to our members.
