RBS Group Resourcing Website Privacy Policy

This policy ("Policy") applies to the RBS Group on-line resourcing service and should be read in addition to the Group’s overarching privacy policy  and website terms of use .

1.   Who is responsible for managing my information?

This website is owned and maintained by Group Resourcing ("we" or "us"), a group function of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (together with its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, the "RBS Group").

We are responsible for the collection and proper management of any personal information you submit on this website. We will keep your personal details secure and use the information you provide consistent with applicable privacy and data protection laws and the terms of this Policy.

2.   What information do we collect?

We will collect details that you provide to us in relation to potential employment within the RBS Group. Information held is likely to include your name, contact details, education and employment record, details of the types of employment you are interested in undertaking and any further information we may ask you to supply about your experience or suitability for a particular role.

3.   What is my information used for?

We will use your personal information for three principal purposes:

(a)   if you are applying for a particular employment opportunity: to enable us to determine your suitability for that employment opportunity.

(b)  if you ask us to maintain an on-line profile page: to allow you to keep an up-to-date record of your personal profile so that if you become aware of an employment opportunity within the RBS Group that is of interest to you, you can readily submit information about yourself to us in connection with that employment opportunity.

(c)  if you ask us to keep you informed about future employment opportunities: to allow us to match your profile to job vacancies and invite you to apply for those vacancies where they become available within the RBS Group.

4.   How is my information collected, held and maintained? 

We will hold your personal information in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

We take your privacy seriously and will hold your details securely, with measures designed to reasonably protect personal data against unauthorised access, accidental or intentional manipulation, loss or destruction. 

We may from time to time appoint other members of the RBS Group, or third party service providers, to help us manage efficient systems within the business. Some of these systems may for operational reasons be located in countries other than your country of residence. We will only do this where we are satisfied adequate levels of protection are in place to protect the integrity and security of any information being processed and compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

5.   How long will my information be held for?

We will retain your personal data consistent with our standard data retention policies for no more than 365 consecutive days of inactivity. RBS will contact you to gain your agreement to retain data beyond this period or to remove your personal data.

Should you elect to remove your data then it will be securely destroyed at the end of this period unless it is required to be retained for legal or regulatory reasons. 

6. What is to be considered when data is transferred over the Internet?

The Internet cannot be regarded as an entirely secure environment. Consequently, information sent via the Internet can be accessed by unauthorised third parties, potentially leading to disclosures, changes in content or technical failures. Even in case information is both sent and received within the same country, such information sent via the Internet may be transmitted across international borders and be forwarded to a country with a lower data protection level than exists in your country of residence.

RBS Group accepts no responsibility or liability for the security of your information whilst in transit over the Internet to RBS Group. In order to protect your privacy we would like to remind you that you may choose another means of communication with RBS Group, where you deem it appropriate.  

7.   How can I update my profile?

If you have registered a personal profile with us, you can update your details at any time by accessing your page at http://www.jobs.rbs.com/global/user/edit  and selecting the appropriate options.  You can use this facility to tell us about changes in circumstance, for example if you have a new contact address or phone number. You can also use this feature if you would like to hear about employment opportunities for different types of role, or to change the location / countries in which you would like to apply the search. Please keep a regular check on your profile as we like to keep our databases up-to-date and make sure you get to hear about vacancies that are most relevant to you.

8.  Can I opt-out of the system?

Yes. You can remove your profile from our system at any time by accessing http://www.jobs.rbs.com/global/user/edit  and selecting the delete profile option.  Where you do this we will remove your profile within 24 hours from future searches and we will not contact you further, other than to confirm that your profile has been deleted.

9.   Will you ever update this privacy policy?

We may update this privacy policy from time to time and we will contact you in accordance with your chosen options to inform you of the changes.

10.  Who can I contact if I have queries about this privacy policy?

Please direct any queries to jobs.rbs.technical.support@rbs.com. This address is reserved for queries relating to this Privacy Policy and should not be used for queries regarding specific job applications.
