About Us
NatWest, previously known as National Westminster Bank Plc, has been part of the RBS group since 2000.
We were established in 1968 by the merger of National Provincial Bank (established in 1833) & Westminster bank (established in 1834). We were a founder member of the Joint Credit Card Company which launched the Access credit card (now Mastercard) and in 1976 introduced the "servicetill" cash machine.
RBS group took over NatWest in 2000 and we became part of the second largest bank in the UK and fifth largest bank in the world by capitalisation.
NatWest is a dynamic & exciting business providing a full range of banking services. We have over 1,600 branches and offer a full range of banking services to 12 million personal, private, business, commercial and corporate customers.
Our key focus is providing great customer service, an emphasis on treating our customers fairly and an ongoing commitment to help our customers manage their finances and make the most of their money.
